Designing a dubbing studio for Frame Entertainment required a meticulous approach, ensuring that the space would meet the high demands of functionality, comfort, and aesthetics. The studio spans 1052 sq. ft. in Chennai and was crafted with a layout that enhances workflow, with three distinct dubbing areas, each featuring its own control room to streamline operations. The checkered partition at the entrance subtly divides the reception area from the main workspace, maintaining an open and airy ambiance while preserving a sense of privacy and professionalism.
Understanding the long hours that team members spend in the studio, we included an informal seating area for relaxation and brainstorming sessions. Conveniently located restrooms and a minimalist kitchen offer comfort and ease to the creative team. The kitchen is defined by groove-designed shutters that lend a sleek, modern touch. Muted cabinetry tones paired with open wooden shelving add warmth and refinement, integrating seamlessly into the overall design for a cohesive look.
The MD room exudes warmth and professionalism with its rich wooden flooring and custom-designed workstations, tailored to support both functionality and a refined aesthetic. The earthy tones and minimalist decor give the room a timeless, serene feel—ideal for focused work and management tasks. Every element, from the furniture selection to the room’s layout, was chosen to maximize productivity while maintaining an inviting atmosphere.
The flooring across the studio is a carefully curated mix, adding unique character to each area. Black-and-white tiles in the informal seating area evoke a nostalgic 90s vibe, bringing texture and personality to the space. In the MD room and workstations, warm wooden flooring complements the studio’s professional yet welcoming feel. Sage green accents in the wall shelves and seating booth introduce a refreshing contrast, while the minimalist black grooves in the kitchen shutters add a modern touch.
Fluted panels at the entrance wall create a striking visual effect, lending depth and enhancing the sense of spaciousness. LED signage highlights the studio’s logo, giving the entrance a polished look. The lighting throughout the space was carefully designed, adding subtle elegance and ensuring a comfortable environment for prolonged work sessions.
Collaborating with India’s esteemed acoustic technician, Mr. Jai Shankar, was essential in achieving superior sound quality within each dubbing area. Acoustic treatments, including breathable wall fabrics, were selected not only for their technical performance but also to align with the studio’s design aesthetic, creating an acoustically sound and visually pleasing environment.
Renovating this studio was a rewarding experience, combining creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. The result is a dynamic, functional space that balances work and relaxation, fostering a productive atmosphere for Frame Entertainment’s team. This studio is more than a workspace; it’s a carefully crafted environment that will support and inspire creativity for years to come.
